Apparently not.
Here is a picture of the student pull "line" at about 11pm last night (click to enlarge)...
I wasn't there, but I hear that it was a mad house. Lots of people trying to cut in line and make a scramble to the front. The athletic department was supposed to have some sort of system set up for the thousand or so people that were expected over night, but I don't think their plan worked very well.
There will be more to come as I hear it, but for now I'm going to bed.
Can anyone believe that this is happening...for a basketball game?!?
**UPDATED** STUDENT TICKET PULL INFORMATION
1. There will be a random lottery system to select which Texas A&M Students will receive tickets to Monday’s Men’s Basketball game against Texas.
2. All students that have a sports pass option that includes basketball AND have pulled a ticket for least one Men’s Basketball home game this year will be automatically entered into the lottery.
3. The lottery will be completely automated and winners will be randomly selected by the University computer system.
4. Winners will be notified in two different ways. First, all winners will receive a message via their neo email accounts. Secondly, they can also log onto AggieAthletics.com and enter their UIN in the sports pass verification system that will be posted on the main page. Through this verification system, students will find out whether they receive a ticket or not. Those who do not win will also see a message regarding the possibility of Standing Room Only Tickets.
5. Tickets must be picked up at the Kyle Field ticket windows on Friday, February 2nd between 7 AM and 7 PM.
6. Each winner MUST have their own Texas A&M Student ID to pull their ticket. A sports card will not be needed or accepted.
7. Winners will only be able to pull ONE ticket.
8. The complete student allotment of tickets will be made available through the lottery system.
9. Due to the Women’s Basketball game on Saturday, February 3rd, camping for entry into the Texas game will not begin until 11 PM on Saturday night.
10. The ticket pull on February 6th for the Texas Tech basketball game will not take place as scheduled. An announcement regarding its timing will be released as soon as details are available.
I think that this is a horrible solution for lots and lots of people. Now, instead of being able to go and sit with our normal group of 8-10, one or two people from our group will end up getting a ticket.
I can't wait to see the lawsuit and angry letters that will result from this one.

Today (Sunday) I ran my first mile since my surgery. It's time to get back in shape after being unable to for a while. Many more miles to go before I can get back in shape though.

I've got the business cards, I'm almost done with the website, I'm working on some t-shirts, and I even have the ability to use a Media pass at some sporting events because I'm taking pics for the yearbook now...oh, and I'm going to school (small detail).
I think that I made my first sale of some pictures from about a week ago, although I have not yet received the check in the mail. Maybe I just won't cash it and frame it instead.
I spent the weekend taking about 1500 pictures at 8 Aggie sporting events....mostly softball, baseball, and swimming. I'm still working on processing them all, but this photography stuff has turned into a full time job (with little to no pay so far). It's fun though, and I'm learning a lot. Maybe I'll be ready for all of this if I ever start another business in the future.
The good part about all of this free work that I'm putting in is that I never have to do it again. I won't have to design more business cards, I can just make more copies. I don't have to build another photography website. Once this one is up I should be able to use it to sell my pictures from now on.
But anyway, that's what has been going on over here. Hopefully it doesn't get much busier.
If things get hectic over the next few days, you'll know why. Wish me luck.
Just after the game, our Men's team will play t.u. in Austin. We will need to win this game to remain in first place in the Big XII with a chance to wrap it up Saturday vs. Missouri. Crazy that it is possible that we win two Big XII championships in the same year in basketball.
Tomorrow night the Houston Dynamo (professional MLS team) will be in town at the Aggie Soccer Stadium to play the second leg of their international match up against Puntarenas FC of Costa Rica. I'm going to try to get pics of this game too...hopefully my media pass will be recognized at the game. It'll be awesome to see everything so close.
