03/08/2007 - Home for Spring Break
I made it home early for spring break. I only have class Monday through Wednesday so I get to have an extended spring break here in Portland.

Hopefully I'll get a few things done while I'm here. I need to fix this site so that I don't have all of these errors anymore. I'll also be cleaning up my photography site so that it looks a little more professional. As of right now it's just a patchwork of ideas. Hopefully I'll be taking a few pictures while I'm here too.

Expect a few more blog updates over the next week and a half. Portland can be a little boring sometimes.

03/08/2007 - Adding Security to the Site
I spent a lot of time today adding a few little features to the site and cleaning up a few things. The only one that you'll notice is that the spam postings about male enhancement drugs and sex sites should stop. I still have to go back and delete the old ones, but at least there won't be any more. The only downside is that you'll have to type in a security code each time that you post.

My next step is to try and fix all of the errors that pop up all the time.

03/11/2007 - I Have the March Madness
The season of March Madness officially starts today with Selection Sunday and all of the drama and second-guessing to follow. I have the March Madness. I caught it tonight and I can't wait to see where it takes me.

I'll admit. I haven't always been a NCAA basketball fan. I didn't have a team to live and die with as they went for it all in the national championship. I didn't spend my weekends in March in front of the TV checking my bracket for the latest upset.

But now I have a team. The Aggies will be in it as a #2 or #3 seed and I know that we'll either win the national championship, or I'll spend one weekend absolutely crushed.

It sucks to know that I'll probably spend a weekend disappointed, but can you imagine the excitement if we won it all? University Drive would have to be shut down because the students would be running wild from northgate into the streets. Even I (the cheap one) may have to buy a round for everyone.

I couldn't find the Vegas odds on our national championship, but even the women's team has a 25 to 1 chance to win it all. I know I'm getting a little too worked up over this but hey, there's a chance.

So who's with me? Who will live or die with their favorite team? My couch better be ready. I'll be there for most of the month.

03/12/2007 - My Friends are Everywhere
I got a little bored today in Portland so I called up some of my friends to watch the NCAA tournament selection show. It turns out that the only guy in town is Paxton. So he came over and we split a few dos equis while we watched A&M get selected for it's first round match up vs. Penn

I started calling around, and it turns out that my friends are spread out around the world. I have a few friends up in Houston, College Station, and Dallas. Jessica is about to be in Austin. A few of my friends are skiing up in Colorado. Some are gambling in Vegas, some in Florida (I think), one in Ohio and I even know a few people in Italy.

Whatever happened to hanging out in Portland? Haha. If I had the money I'd be out of here too. Travel Safe.

03/14/2007 - It's About Time I Fixed All Of The Problems
It took most of my spring break, but I think I've fixed all of the errors that have be a constant over the past few weeks since I switched servers.  Time to move on to something more productive...how about the photography site?

Oh, looks like I might've finished that too.  I have a few cosmetic things I'd like to fix on the photography site (like adding more pictures), but other than that I'm happy with how things have turned out.

So now it's back to life as normal.  Let me know if you see anything else that needs to be corrected.

03/22/2007 - The Hottest Name in Sports
The Hottest Name in Sports right now is the Texas A&M Aggies' Men's Basketball Team.  You can't turn on the TV without hearing about Acie Law IV and how he and Billy Gillispie have turned things around in College Station, TX.

It's good to finally hear some good news about A&M.  Usually it's the other way around.  If the slightest thing goes wrong on campus it's national news, but we rarely get recognized for the things that we do right.

We're the #3 seed in the south bracket, but few are talking about #1 Ohio State and #2 Memphis as much as they're talking about #3, The Fightin' Texas Aggies.

So here's to a great game against Memphis tonight in San Antonio.  BTHO Memphis!

03/26/2007 - Baseball Season
So now that football and basketball are finished I get to look forward to the action-packed, fast paced sport of baseball.  Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy a baseball game or two, but could this game get anymore boring?  I'll even watch the Aggies once a week, but you major leaguers want to start now and play until October? You're actually going to try and squeeze 162 games into the next few months and expect me to remain interested?

It'd be ok if there was some action in the game, but the way it is now there's just so much dead time.  Pitcher throws the ball...ball one! Now let's wait 20 seconds til the pitcher and the batter get ready again.  Next pitch is a strike.  20 more seconds.  Next pitch is a ball.  More than a minute has gone by and the count is 2 and 1.

By this time I've changed the channel.  It's only the second inning, I just wanted to see the score and the all-star future hall of fame batter only has a 30% chance of getting a hit.  I'd rather watch a south park re-run on Comedy Central.

I guess I'll have to start the countdown til football season.  Only 6 more months.

This was my type of game.  We won 13-2, but I only saw the last three innings.  You can find my pics by clicking the following link.

03/30/2007 - Chilifest Starts Today
The biggest non-sports event for an Aggie this year may be Chilifest...and it starts today.  If you've never been to Chilifest, it's a huge concert and chili cook off where all of us students go out to do what we do best....listen to good music and eat chili.

I'm looking forward to the weekend.  Willie Nelson will be there along with a bunch of other country singers that I don't really pay attention to...Aaron Watson, Pat Green, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and Jack Ingram.

I'll be there mostly to have a good time with the roommates and some of the old Portland people.  See ya there.
