05/03/2007 - Long Time No See...
Sorry for the lack of updates lately.  I just finished up my school for the semester, and I've been working on getting some projects knocked off the list, so the website took a back seat.

Looks like I passed all of my classes this semester...there wasn't really any doubt, but it's always good to know for sure, especially this close to graduation.

Congrats to both Justin and Chris who have both received job offers recently.  I know mine is coming soon...haha.  Maybe when I find out what I want to do with my life.  Keep your ears open and suggest anything that comes to mind.  I'm looking for ideas.

Speaking of jobs, I'm starting a new business soon.  You already know about the photography business, but another one is in the works.  Something similar.  Many of you already know, but I'm not going to announce until the website is up and running.  Page one was finished tonight.

Now that school is over, I should be on here more.  Keep checking back for updates.

05/04/2007 - My Run of Bad Luck
So about 3 months ago, I notice that the taillight to my motorcycle has been knocked off.  It happened in my garage so it either fell off on it's own, I knocked it off, or one of my roommates knocked it off.

I certainly don't remember knocking it off, and none of my roommates take the blame so it must've just fallen off right?

I take it today to get it fixed and it turns out that my taillight has suffered a pretty serious blow.  To be knocked off like it did would take a good amount of force.  The entire taillight mount has to be replaced at a cost to me of $175.

So I decide that I want to get it fixed.  The computer says that they have the part, but when they go to the back to look it's not there.  I'm going to have to order the part and come back another day.

So I get back on the bike and ride home.  When I'm turning onto my street I pass a cop.  I guess these guys have radar on the back of their cars cuz he got me going 42 in a 30 (no traffic anywhere in the area).   There goes another $225.

This damn taillight is going to cost me $400.

05/14/2007 - I Hate Moving
You may have noticed that it's been a little while since I've been on the blog...I have reasons for this, and one of them isn't fun...Moving.

I've spent the last two years at the Westover house, a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house in the middle of Westover Street.  Over the two years I've accumulated enough stuff to fill my car more than a few times with boxes, a television, computer equipment, etc. Some is going to a storage unit, some to friends houses, some to a future house, some back to Portland, and still more will be left on the curb for others to pick up.

Over the last few days we've done our fair share of cleaning, but now everyone is gone and I'm left in the Westover house to myself.  No roommates, just me and a vacuum to finish up the work.  Tomorrow I have to scramble around town to close all of our utility accounts so that the next people don't move in and run up my electricity bill.  Lots of work still to do.

But after that I'll be leaving behind a good part of my college career.  Sure there was a little drama every now and then...even some this week.  But I'll remember the good times we've had over the bad...  It's been fun.

05/16/2007 - Off to New England
Jessica and I are headed out early tomorrow morning for our trip to Boston and Connecticut.  We'll spend two nights in Boston before headed to meet up with the Carter's for the week leading up to Kyle's graduation.

I need to get packed, but check back in to the site every day.  I'll be posting the events and some pictures from the trip.  See ya in a week.

05/18/2007 - Hello from Boston
Jessica and I arrived in Boston at about 5pm (eastern time) yesterday after fighting a little traffic.  As soon as we got here we noticed how cold it was.  It's mid-May, and the weather here is more like the coldest day in Texas.

Last night we walked around town knowing that the weather was going to get worse.  Jessica was dying to see Filene's Basement, a huge store here in town.  She didn't buy anything, but I ended up getting a jacket to replace the one I left at home.  We ate at "Legal Seafood", a place famous for their good food, but obviously not a place famous for their service.  Food was great, service was horrible.

Boston so far has been nothing like we expected.  It's a much smaller town than we thought it would be, everyone is generally friendlier than we thought originally, the weather is horrible instead of pleasent, and everyone here loves the Red Sox (well I kinda expected that..but not this much).

That was all yesterday. I'll have some pictures up and today's stuff later on.

05/18/2007 - Day 2 in Boston
Day 2 started out cold and wet, but ended up to be a pretty good day.

We started out the day at a CVS pharmacy trying to find an umbrella.  It was in the 40's and pouring down rain.  Turns out, there was one left, and it was bright pink.  No biggie I guess, I just had to carry a pink umbrella around all morning.  As the tour guide said, "at least no one will steal it".

On our morning tour of the Freedom Trail we were taken to see the cemetary where many including John Hancock and Sam Adams were buried.  I have a funny picture from that one.  As we were looking over Sam Adam's grave, a Sam Adam's (the beer) truck drove by...funny stuff.  Click the picture below.

We ate lunch in the North End (little Italy), at an authentic Italian Restaurant. Jessica had her typical Spaghetti and I had the Spaghetti Carbonara (Spaghetti with eggs, bacon, cream and butter).  We hadn't had food like that since Rome last August.

This afternoon we went to China town where we found the best street ever..."Hollis St."  It was only about 100 yards long and the only sign labeling it was missing the "H", so I guess it was temporarily "Ollis St."   Chinatown was alright.   Jessica says that it's not as nice as New York, but it was still a cool experience.

The evening was the best part though.  We went over to the Prudential Center.  I'm pretty sure that it's the biggest building in the city and it has the #1 rated view in Boston.  When we got to the top we had a lady ask us if we were there for the wine tasting or the sky walk tour.  I told her that we were just there for the sky walk, but we'd do the wine tasting if it were free.  I was just joking around really, but she said that with a $5 donation to some food for the homeless organization we could get in and go to the wine tasting.   So we each paid our $5 and went in.  It turns out that the wine tasting was in the same place as the sky walk, and the tour would've cost us $8.50.  We got a $3.50 per person discount for the same view and we got to drink some wine...pretty good deal if you ask me.

To top it all off, the wine tour was put on by Beringer wine.  The other people that were there had their spot reserved for weeks in advance and we just walked in from the street.  They were dressed in Suits and ties and Jessica was wearing her hoodie, jeans, and some cowboy boots.  We definitely weren't meant to be there, but we still got to try seven glasses of wine being promoted by the Beringer company, including a glass that is part of a $150 bottle (the reserve bottle).  Good stuff.

We ate dinner at a restaurant near the hotel and came to the hotel to crash, in fact Jessica is already out.  Tomorrow should be another good day.   We'll cross three states on our way to see the Carter's in New London.  Hopefully you'll hear from me then.

Enjoy these pictures.

05/19/2007 - 3 States in a Day
Today was our final day in Boston and our first day in Connecticut.  We spent the Boston part driving by Fenway (parking was $30), driving through the Harvard campus (there was no parking) and not being able to find the exit for the place that Jessica wanted to eat for lunch (we were in a tunnel).

So we drove on to Rhode Island and ate at Papa Gino's Pizza.  It was actually pretty good.  It was kind of like the mall pizza called Sbarro, but we got an entire pizza full of it.  Good stuff.

After lunch we continued on to Connecticut to meet up with Kyle.  We ate again at Paul's Pasta...more good food...then went to church at the Coast Guard Academy campus.  Just after church we went on a "moonlight cruise" which was pretty cool except for the ridiculously expensive drinks.  Let's just say that it's no Midnight Rodeo on a Saturday night.

Right now we're in a rental house on the Niantic River, and we'll be here for the next five days.  I'll give you pictures of the house soon. Good night from the east coast.

05/29/2007 - Coast Guard Pics
Whats up everyone?  It's been a while, and I haven't updated my stuff, but I've been busy.  I have a lot of stories from our trip to New England, but I don't have time for them now.  I'm too busy processing all of my pictures.   You can find them in the gallery on my photo site.
